There is no shortcut to the fit body you want – you absolutely need to watch what you eat and workout to achieve major results. There are some basic things you can do that will help you achieve results in the short-term. We’ve tried it and it works!

  1. Water as your main beverage

There’s a reason water is life. Take advantage of water’s life-giving power and make it your main beverage. Cut out all sodas, juices, alcohol and other drinks and replace them with water. If you don’t like the taste, you can infuse by adding lemon or cucumber slices. Get yourself a water bottle and purpose to drink 2 liters a day. If you must have other beverages, opt for green tea.  If you must drink, keep it moderate and hydrate throughout. You will see the results of this change on your weight, energy levels and skin.

  1. Going low carb

This is probably the most efficient way to lose weight. The point is not to starve yourself as that is bad for your health in the long run, but to cut out unhealthy carbs from your diet. Start slowly by cutting back on processed foods and replacing them with healthier options like sweet potatoes while increasing the vegetables on your plate. If you must have potatoes, opt for them boiled instead of fried, and go for brown rice instead of the white variety.

  1. Alternative snacking

There’s a tendency to want to snack as you reduce the carbs in your diet. Your cravings for fries, crisps, ice-cream and all kinds of junk food will be high. Counter this by stocking your house as well as your handbag with healthy snacks like peanuts, cashew nuts and fruits. Drinking water when you’re tempted to snack will also help.
