And the best part is, they’re so easy to make at home. Try out this simple recipe for healthy, tasty chocolate cookies. Ingredients
8 tbsp sugar
1 egg
6 tbsp margarine
1 cup all-purpose flour
6 tbsp chocolate essence/ 50g chocolate powder
2 tsp vanilla essence
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
Makes 12 chocolate cookies
Method
- Mix the margarine and sugar in a bowl until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg and mix completely.
- Combine the flour, chocolate essence/ powder, vanilla essence, baking soda and salt.
- Stir thoroughly.
- Add this to the other ingredients and blend until you achieve a thick but workable consistency.
- Using a spoon, drop the mixture onto an ungreased baking sheet.
- Preheat your oven to 180 C for a few minutes.
- Place baking sheet in the oven, bake for 10 minutes or until slightly firm.
- Remove the sheet from the oven and allow cookies to cool.
- Serve with your favourite drink. Enjoy!
Tips
- Do not overbake, since the aim is to have chewy cookies. They will puff while baking and flatten upon cooling.
- If any remain, store them in a sealed plastic container to preserve freshness.
