A baby shower is an event meant to celebrate the mom-to-be as she prepares to welcome her little one(s). This ceremony has evolved from simple gatherings at the lady’s home to elaborate parties complete with themes. Whatever your fancy, here are a few unique ways to celebrate it.
Park/ Beach
With the new trend of fancy baby showers carefully curated for the ‘gram, you might feel pressured to do the same. However, you can still have a fun day without breaking the bank. Pick a park that’s free to use, pack your picnic baskets and cute blankets and you’re good to go. Just make sure it’s comfortable for the mom-to-be. If she lives near a beach, you can organise a fun nautical-themed shower.
Church/ Worship Centre
This is ideal when the baby shower is themed around giving thanks to God for the blessing of a baby. Most worship centres have separate rooms for functions, but if not the hall where services are held can still suffice. What’s more, if you’re a member of that church you might not be charged for using the venue.
Restaurant
Making reservations at a restaurant frees the mom-to-be from the hassle of catering and cleaning up after the guests are gone. If your pocket allows it, you can book the entire restaurant. This allows you to have control over the decor and activities of the day. If on a tight budget or hosting a few guests, request the management to allow you to decorate the table(s) you’ll be using.
Rooftop Bar
This doesn’t immediately come to mind when you mention baby shower, right? However, you can choose one that’s non-smoking, has great decor and dope views. Keep the drinks non-alcoholic and you’ll have a great time!
Her Office
Co-ordinate with management in the mom-to-be’s office and surprise her with a celebration at the office. Decorate her cubicle with items in her favourite colour, organise for her colleagues and friends to bring gifts. You can even take her out for lunch, dinner or spa date after this depending on her schedule.
