Happy International Women’s Day 2019! The celebration is marked on March 8 every year to commemorate the movement for women’s rights. It’s a day to celebrate the social, economic, political and cultural achievements of women. This day has been celebrated for more than 100 years.
This year’s theme is #BalanceforBetter. The focus is on building a gender balanced world. However, the campaign doesn’t end today but continues all through 2019.
Gender balance is more than ever needed in media coverage, boardrooms, government, sports coverage, wealth management and other spheres of life.
To achieve gender balance, collective action and shared responsibility is needed. The fight isn’t for one organization, group or country. Since gender balance benefits all of us, we should all take part.
To amplify the #BalanceforBetter message on social media, the ‘hands out’ balance pose has been adopted as a symbol of the theme.
So put your hands out and STRIKE THE #BalanceforBetter POSE and make International Women’s Day 2019 your day – and do what you can to truly make a positive difference for women everywhere.
