Us

If you haven’t heard of Jordan Peele’s latest movie- Us – what rock have you been living under? Already it has earned $174.5 million globally, against the $20 million production budget.

Starring Lupita Nyong’o, Winston Duke, Madison Curry among others, Us is a horror movie that will keep you glued to the screen.

Adelaide together with her husband Gabe Wilson and 2 children, go to Santa Cruz  for a summer beach vacation. However while there, she can’t shake the feeling that something bad is about to happen.

Her feelings aren’t unfounded. During her childhood, Adelaide had wandered off on her own while on a family vacay at the same beach house and had a terrible ordeal. She’s afraid that her own children might stray from her and be “taken”. On top of this, she has never shared with anyone what happened so the scars are still raw.

When night falls, Adelaide’s fears come to life. Four masked figures descend upon the beach house and start attacking the family. They have no choice but to fight for survival. When the masks come off, the Wilsons are shocked to discover that each attacker is an exact copy of themselves (doppelgangers).

They manage to kill these doppelgangers, only to learn from the news that millions of these monsters (who call themselves “the Tethered”), have been committing murders against their real counterparts throughout the United States.

Although some viewers have rated Us below Jordan Peele’s previous production (Get Out), it’s still a compelling movie nonetheless.
