This month we are reading Unbowed by Wangari Maathai. It’s the perfect book for women’s month, especially with the current upheaval in the world. More than ever, we need to look back at those that came before us and learn from them and be inspired by their courage and resilience.
Unbowed is the moving and inspirational memoir of the first African woman, and the first environmentalist, to win the Nobel Peace Prize, Wangari Maathai. The memoir charts her development from a young girl in British Kenya to a divorced mother of three fighting to save her country from a dictator and his corruption.
We are almost done reading and can’t wait to meet up with our book club members to dissect this book. The book club is open to women and you can sign up here. Happy reading!
